Another fantastic performance by members of Team Point Blank! With an 11 member Team competing at this event, they returned with 4 medals.

1 – 2nd place (5 year old Ethan ‘Backpack’ Hyatt), 1 – 3rd place (9 year old Alyssa Ultimo), and 2 – 4th place medals (11 year old Tyler Andrejas and 10 year old Sarah Shields). We are extremely proud of all the team members who participated in the tournament, many of whom were first time competitiors who faced off against larger opponents.

A special chout out to Sara Shields who came back from a 10 point deficit, in here first match, to win 12 to 10 over her opponent, and Ethan ‘Backpack’ Hyatt who despite being, by far, the smallest competitor in the tournament taking second with a big smile on his face during each and every one of his matches.
Fresh from this great performance our kids are already asking when the next tournament will be held, and are looking forward to getting back to training.

Bravado Jiu-Jitsu Tournament (June 2006)

Competing in the Bravado Jiu-Jitsu Tournament in Etobicoke, all 3 team members finished with medals. 1 Gold (Jacob Schroder), 1 Silver (Tyler Andrejas), and 1 Bravery Medal (Jenna ‘Mighty Mouse’ Schroder). A very strong finish for all all three team members, all of whom have never competed before. Our youngest team member even sqaured off against competitors two years older than herself. Way to go team!

CJA Grappling Tournament in Barrie (May 2006)

In the clubs first ever competitive appearance, all four competing team members won medals in their respective divisions.

In the CJA (Canadian Jiu-Jitsu Association) Grappling tournament held in Barrie, the team finished the day with 1 Gold (Riley Rennette), 1 Silver (Jonathan Hurtubise), and 2 Bronze Medals (Spencer Sewell and Nikita Degtyar). Congratulations guys!
