Four of our competing athletes took gold in their brackets and respective divisions with the rest taking silver, and bronze in theirs.

7 year old Vito Cirone won gold in his bracket of the Kids II Gi White Belt – Feather Division, 8 year old Brody Bell won gold in his bracket of the Kids II Gi White Belt Feather Division, 10 year Ethan Hyatt in his Kids III Gi White Belt Rooster Division, and 10 year old Matthew Deluca won Gold in his Kids III Gi  White Belt Rooster Division.

Our other 3 competitors also took medals home. 8 year old Daniel Tykei won Silver in his division, 17 year old Cameron Chisholm took Silver in the Junior No-Gi White Belt Division, 7 year old AJ Alsop took the Bronze in his division in the Kids II Gi White Belt Rooster Division.

All around great performances from all of our team members, especially if you consider that we are not strictly a BJJ club and only train on ground 1/3 of the time compared to straight BJJ clubs.

These guys worked very hard, in the weeks leading up to the tournament, and we are very proud of them. A special thanks to coach Steve Hyatt who was instrumental in getting the kids ready for the tournament.

This past November Point Blank CrossFit partnered with with the York Regional Police ECOTRIP program.

What is ECOTRIP?

ECOTRIP is a no-cost year-long program run by the York Regional Police that services the community by providing youth the opportunity to receive mentorship from local police officers.

From November through January we joined with the the York Regional Police’s community services officers in providing a health and fitness component to the ongoing mentoring between police officers and the communities youth.

The officers and students attended 8 weeks of instruction and training in CrossFit, as well as guest speakers from different branches of the Police Services, as well as outside groups such as Youth Speak. The ECOTRIP program was a big success and we are looking to our involvement in this year’s program.

Congratulations to CrossFitter Baljit Kalsi who finished 1^st in our 8 week challenge. Bajit showed the overall most improvement in 8 weeks; and won the top prize worth over $600.00. This included $160 Cash, 1 Month All-Access Club Membership (Value $180) , and T-Fal Actifry (Value $299).

Thai Boxer Joe Camili finished second taking home $96 Cash, 1 Month Membership (Value $134) and Fight Boutique Prize Pack (Value $100) [Thanks to Shane Kunal and the Fight Boutique for their support of this event], Boxer John Bateman took third just edging out CrossFitter Cory Wojtka (who was awarded a pair of 10oz Boxing gloves for 4^th place [Value $30.00]) and winning our 3^rd prize of $64 Cash, a 10 Class Pass (Value $158) and Point Blank T-Shirt (Value $25).

Pending any weird equipment requirements we have OPTED IN for all 6 weeks of workouts. For this special occasion WE WELCOME ANYONE FROM ANY OTHER CROSSFIT AFFILIATE OR ANYONE WHO DOES CROSSFIT BY THEMSELVES to come and join the action at our box. Official games wods will take place on Saturdays 1pm and Sundays at 10 am. You are also welcome to contact us to arrange another time to do your WODs and we will endorse your times. The FEE for any non-member is $20 per WOD for Saturday at 1pm and Sunday at 10 am. Other privately arranged times will carry a fee of $30 per WOD. Call us or email us for more information!
